Auto Extension Coverage

A Personal Auto Policy is also known as an “Auto Pak” or “Package Policy.” This insurance enhances the coverage provided under your vehicle’s plate insurance, with options of lowering your $700 deductible (provided as your basic license plate insurance) to anywhere from $500 to $100. A Personal Auto Policy also provides options to increase your liability coverage, and to add road hazard glass coverage, replacement cost coverage, and loss of use coverage. The cost of this insurance is based on your vehicle, your driving history, coverages chosen, and the intended use of your vehicle.

If you are using your vehicle for business or if your corporation owns vehicles, and you are looking for better protection, you must get additional protection through a Commercial Auto Policy. The type of business you are in, the vehicle type, as well as the operations that you are using the vehicle for, will determine the cost of purchasing additional protection.

What is an insurance Endorsement?

An insurance endorsement/rider is an amendment to an existing insurance contract that changes the terms of the original policy. An endorsement/rider can be issued at the purchase, mid-term or renewal time. Insurance premiums may be affected and adjusted as a result.

What is the Replacement Cost?

This type of property coverage will pay to replace the damaged property with a brand new one of the same kind, kind, and quality. If replacement cost is not offered, then the property is covered for ACV (Actual Cash Value), which only pays what the property was worth when the damage happens.

What is a Deductible?

The deductible on a policy is the amount the insured is responsible for in the event of a loss. For instance, if your car is damaged in an accident and there is $5,000 in damages, you are responsible for the damage. If you have the plate deductible of $700 for collisions, the insurance company will pay $4,300, and you will have to pay $700.
